Fast Lane: New Cisco Data Center Courses in the Portfolio

Authorized Cisco Data Center-Curriculum expanded

May 19, 2008 – Cisco Learning Solutions Partner Fast Lane expands its program with five courses from the Cisco Data Center area. These include the following trainings: Designing Cisco Data Center Network Infrastructure (DCNID), Implementing Cisco Data Center Network Infrastructure 1 (DCNI-1), Implementing Cisco Data Center Network Infrastructure 2 (DCNI-2), Implementing Data Center Application Services (DCASI), and Designing Data Center Application Services (DCASD). In these hands-on trainings Fast Lane specialists will impart comprehensive expertise and skills required for working with Cisco data center networks.

Cisco has chosen Fast Lane amongst others as co-developer of these new authorized Cisco data center courses. The trainings will be available starting end of June.

!Data Center Network Infrastructure Design (DCNID)
On completion of the course graduates will be able to develop a data center network design optimizing availability, scalability, performance, and security. This is achieved by using Nexus products, Catalyst 6500, Catalyst 4948, Firewall Services Module (FWSM), Intrusion Detection Services Module (IDSM), and Network Analysis Module (NAM). This training replaces the Cisco Data Center Networking Infrastructure Design (DCISE) instruction.

!Implementing Cisco Data Center Network Infrastructure 1 (DCNI-1)
This 5-day training imparts to participants all required skills to design scalable, reliable, and intelligent data center networks based on Catalyst 6500 Series Switches. DCNI-1 replaces the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Implementation for Data Center Business Solutions (CAT6KS) course.

!Implementing Cisco Data Center Network Infrastructure 2 (DCNI-2)
The DCNI-2 course is primarily meant to address network professionals requiring all necessary expertise and skills for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and operating the Nexus product family in a data center. This course replaces the Cisco Data Center Networking Infrastructure Support (DCIFE) training.

!
In the course of this hands-on instruction, participants learn about all key functions of Cisco Data Center Application Services. Additionally, the course focuses on server load balancing and web application acceleration solutions based on the Cisco ACE service module and appliance. Moreover, participants will be given an understanding of site-to-site load balancing solutions with Cisco GSS.

!Designing Data Center Application Services (DCASD)
During this 5-day DCASD instruction graduates will be enabled to implement, operate, and optimize Cisco Data Center Application Services using the Cisco ACE product family.
